Logjam work getting down and dirty
Since crews started clearing logjams in Mill Creek late last year, officials said thousands of logs have been pulled from the waterway.
Joe Eads, with Union County Soil and Water Conservation District, told the county commissioners on March 12 that more than 90 jams of varying sizes have been removed from about three miles of Mill Creek.
“The channel is open,” he said.
Some of the initial clearings helped to lower the water level near the junction of Mill Creek and Infirmary Ditch, between Route 4 and Waldo Road on the northeast side of Marysville.
