Rising project costs are contributing to a shortage of funding for the Union County Engineer’s Office and the department is hoping the county can help find a solution.

At the regular commissioners meeting Feb. 19, Engineer Jeff Stauch and members of his staff said that, year-to-year, his office is about $4 million short for its roadwork program and the infrastructure fund is short about $7 million for work needed through 2029.
