Lady Cats edge Bellefontaine in conference matchup
In what has been a recurring part of the North Union girls basketball season of late, the Lady Cats found another way to get a close win.
Trailing by 12 points heading into the fourth quarter, North Union turned up the defensive pressure and got the offense going to earn a 53-51 victory over Bellefontaine last Wednesday at Bellefontaine.
In four of their last five games, the Lady Cats, who extended their winning streak to nine games, have won by margins of five points or less.
“We’ve been fortunate to win close games but they have not been in the same way,” NU Head Coach Mitchell Loomis said.
