Wildcats fall short to Indian Lake, 56-54

In an early season matchup of division leaders, North Union and Indian Lake were each trying to get a leg up on the Central Buckeye Conference’s Mad River Division.

It was probably not much of surprise that it came down to the last possession of the game.

With the game tied at 54 with around 10 seconds left in the fourth quarter, North Union had the ball in its offensive end.

But the Lakers were able to get a steal, get a pass ahead to Colin Bendler and he did the rest with a buzzer-beating layup. Both teams were 3-0 in league play and were meeting for the first of two games they would be play each other in a 10-day span.

It looked like North Union (5-6) was going to get a thrillin…
