Charges stem from 1.6M theft from estate
A Columbus man is facing as many as 30 years in prison for allegedly stealing over $1.6 million from his deceased father’s estate.
The Union County Grand Jury is indicting Thomas F. Means, 68, of Columbus, for one count of aggravated theft of $1.5 million or more, one count of theft from a person in a protected class and one count of telecommunications fraud.
According to court documents, Means allegedly deprived $1,638,054.33 in total from the estate from Nov. 1, 2017 to July 31, 2021.
