Wildcat cagers hold off Shawnee Braves, 48-36

North Union held Springfield Shawnee to just two points in the middle two quarters and went on to defeat the Braves 48-36 in Central Buckeye Conference play at Shawnee last Friday.

The Wildcats (5-5 overall, 3-0 CBC) led 17-14 at the end of the first quarter. But they allowed just two points in the second quarter`to take a 29-16 lead into halftime.

North Union did even better defensively in the third quarter not allowing Shawnee (6-3, 3-1) to score, giving it a 40-16 edge with one quarter left to play.

Miles Hall led North Union with 27 points, connecting six times from behind the three-point arc. Danion Lindsey and Tyler Krebehenne each had six points.

North Union

Lindsey 2-0-6, Hajjar 1-2-5, Kyle 2-0-4, Krebehenne 2-2-6, Hall 7-7-27. Three-point goals: Hall 7, Lindsey 2, Hajjar 2.

Shawnee

Earles 4-0-10, Jones 2-0-6, Young 1-0-2, Dixon 1-1-3, Dingeman 3-0-8, Haddock 3-0-7. Three-point goals: Earles 2, Jones 2, Dingeman 2, Haddock.

North Union won the JV game 41-36.

Lindsey and Trace Huff each had nine points for the Wildcats.
