County births outpace deaths, pop. could see 100k by 2050

Union County continues to see a trend not typical in the state: births are still outpacing deaths.

William Murdock, executive director with the Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission (MORPC) gave his annual update to the county commissioners recently and said that the births in the county are higher than others in the central Ohio region.

“Unlike most of central Ohio, your births exceed your deaths a lot so you got young families here, we’re seeing this in the numbers, but you also have a lot of folks moving in, more than 2,500 more moving in than moved out,” he said. “This means that the growth that you’re planning for, the growth that you’re loo…
