Preschool instruction changing at North Union
The model for preschool instruction at North Union is changing from two full-days to four half-days per week effective for the 20252026 school year.
At the regular board meeting on Monday, Deana Adams, director of student services, said the change to half-days will cut out extra activities in favor of adding 1,000 more minutes of instruction.
“In one full day you get approximately 135 minutes of intervention, that makes 270 minutes a week, so eight full days a month gives you 1,080 minutes a month,” Adams said. “If we move to four half-days, you get 130 minutes each day, because we’re stripping out all those extras.
