The Village of Richwood has made it a priority to enable all of its residents the opportunity to safely travel to everday destinations, and has been awarded for their efforts.

In 2022, the Village was trying to find a way to assist its residents with safe access to their only local stores for basic daily essentials. It was noted by Mayor Scott Jerew, Village Council and concerned citizens that pedestrians on foot or by bike and people with disabilities or those using wheelchairs were often seen trying to get to the stores by traveling on the roadway.
