Members of multi-county car theft ring charged

A gang of accused car thieves has been indicted locally.

The Union County Grand Jury has indicted nine individuals, alleging they are all part of an organized crime ring, stealing cars and other items in Union as well as Franklin, Delaware, Wyandot, Lawrence, Knox, Fairfield, Pickaway, Hamilton, Ross, Medina and Greene counties.

Court documents detail a variety of thefts that different members of the group participated in.

Among the items that at least some of the members are accused of stealing are at least 11 pick-up trucks, two box trucks, a van, an SUV, four electric bikes, 10 trailers, many of which were enclosed trailers, three gol…
