Ditch project assessment should be lower than county anticipated

Letters are going out soon regarding assessments for the Morris- Beery ditch project and amounts may be lower than anticipated.

Union County Engineer Jeff Stauch updated the commissioners on a series of projects Sept. 25, including the ditch improvement completed last fall. The commissioners fronted funds for the construction portion so recoupment would cover that money as well as the future maintenance assessments.

Crews worked through last year adding in drainage tiles north of Pharisburg between Sandusky Road and Route 4.

The board approved the assessments at the meeting as well.
