Lady Cats still experiencing growing pains

Set to begin its third season as a high school sport, the North Union girls soccer team is still going through growing pains.

But Head Coach Bill LeRoy is excited about this year’s team, despite winning just one of its 18 matches in 2023.

A lot of that optimism comes from returning 10 players from last year’s team, but LeRoy is also expecting contribution from all of the players.

“This is a tight-knit group with solid leadership in all four classes,” LeRoy said. “This is our third year as a varsity program. This group of girls have worked hard in the offseason to improve and start establishing a program pedigree.”
