Union County Airport board approves new hangar
The Union County Airport Authority approved the lease for construction of a privately funded box hangar, the first of its kind at the airport.
At a meeting last week, Woolpert Consulting displayed a concept map that included two privately funded box hangars at the airport. In the concept, one of the box hangars would go next to the existing single volume hangar, and the other box hangar would be built to the north above the existing t-hangars. The UCAA approved the latter one for construction.
UCAA Vice President Phil LaPointe said the location of the first box hangar, next to the single volume hangar, interferes with their master plan, which includes saving that spot for a future terminal.
