JULY 18, 1924

JULY 7: This issue of the Gazette is No. 1 volume 53 – meaning that fifty-two years have elapsed since the first issue of the paper appeared. Fifty-two years is not a great space of time, comparatively, but nevertheless there has been there has been a great change in Richwood in those years. In looking over the first number of the Gazette we find not a single advertiser who is in business here today – even the name of the railroad has been changed. The Gazette, all through the years, and under various managements, has made a faithful effort to serve the community.
