The visiting Vikings (4-16) delivered the upset in the final inning of the non-conference matchup.

The Wildcats (11-8) claimed a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second inning.

After a scoreless third and fourth, River Valley knotted things up with their initial run during the top of the fifth.

North Union regained the upper hand in the home half of the sixth with one run.

River Valley, though, answered back with five runs for a 6-2 advantage heading into the bottom of the seventh.

The Wildcats were not able to respond.

For six innings, the senior allowed four runs on three hits. He struck out seven and walked five.
