NUMS track finds success in Middle School Invite

North Union held off a late run by Loudonville to win the girls meet in the Checkers Pizza Middle School Invitational at Crestline.

Needing to be within one place of Loudonville going into the final event, the 4×400, to secure the victory, the North Union foursome of Adalee Hunt, Rylee Horne, Addison Kirby and Samantha Price finished second with Loudonville winning the event.

The Lady Cats finished with 130 points, one-half point in front of Loudonville.

Earning first-place finishes for North Union were:

Zoni Robinson, 100 hurdles (19.46); 4×200 team of Kirby, Horne, Paisley Jordan, Katelyn Vine (2:03.35); 4×800 team of Price, Morgan Mask, Tinlee Martino and Chloe McElroy (11:18.13).

Price set a school record of 1:05.58 in finishing second in the 400.

North Union finished second in the boys meet with 87 points. New London took first place with 127.5 points.

Jack Kemp won the 400 in a meet-record time of 56.43.

The 4×200 team of Broden O’Reilly, Luke Brown, Kemp, Mason Andrews also set a meet record and school record (1:41.46) in winning the event.

O’Reilly also won the discus with a toss of 113 feet.
