Fire which started at an early hour Friday morning completely destroyed the old Delauder hotel building in LaRue and for a time threatened to wipe out the business section of the town. The roof and rooms over the Campbell National bank were badly burned and a directors room at the rear was destroyed. The fire is believed to have started in the kitchen of the Allen restaurant, which, with the Rothgang Brothers’ pool room, occupied the first floor of the hotel building. The building has not been operated as a hotel for a number of years. The loss was partially covered by insurance. All of LaRue was without lights for several hours as a result of the fire and part of the town had no telephone service.
