Food pantries benefit from settlement money

Two Union County food pantries are getting some money thanks to Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost.

After winning nearly $1 million in settlement money from Dollar General’s price discrepancy case this past year, Yost asked each county auditor to notify his office of food pantries in their county to award their share of the settlement dollars.

Union County Auditor Andrea Weaver sought the assistance of Brandi Hibbs, Director of Union Way of Union County.

“With Brandi’s help, we were able to identify the Hope Center in Marysville and the Richwood Food Pantry (REAP), both of which serve thousands of residents all around Union County,” Weaver said….
