In Retrospect

75 YEARS AGO JUNE 15, 1948

Forty-seven children of pre-school age were examined at the clinic. County Health Commissioner C. W. Hoopes was assisted by Miss Olive Sinkey and Mrs. Clara Greer, Red Cross nurses. Dr. Golding, eye, ear, nose and throat specialist; and Dr. Baxter a specialist in pediatrics; both of Columbus, examined the children. They were assisted by Dr. Julia Hopkins, head of child hygiene; Mrs. Clara Reeder, clinic nurse, state department; and Miss Fane, nutrition expert, O. S. U. Local persons who assisted were: Mrs. F. A. McAllister, Mrs. C. C. Harris, Mrs. H. E. Peet, Mrs. R. W. Lenox, Misses Naomi Bell, Mildred Duke and Jane McAllister. The real object of these clinics which it is planned to hold at regular intervals, is to detect defect…
